Membership Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your membership with Iron Focus and your use of all Iron Focus services.

1. Introduction
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership with Iron Focus and your use of all Iron Focus services, including in-person training sessions and the Iron Focus personal training application (“the App”). By purchasing a membership or package, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our services
Iron Focus offers personal training services across a range of packages. All packages include access to the Iron Focus App, through which your individualised training program is delivered.
Digital packages
Delivered primarily through the App. In-person time with your trainer is available by appointment.
In-person packages
Involve regular scheduled sessions at our training facility, supported by the App between sessions.
Free screening sessions are offered to all new Iron Focus members before any commitment is made. These sessions are separate from and not governed by these Terms.
Package-specific inclusions are described on our website at the time of purchase.
3. Payment
One-off packages are paid upfront in full before access is granted.
Weekly subscription packages are billed automatically each week via Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you authorise Iron Focus to charge your nominated payment method on a recurring weekly basis. Some weekly packages require a minimum term: you pay the first number of weeks upfront at signup, and recurring weekly billing begins after that prepaid period.
If a subscription payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected after retry attempts are exhausted, your access to Iron Focus services may be suspended until payment is resolved. We will notify you of any payment failure.
Price changes
Iron Focus may adjust subscription pricing from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days written notice before any price increase takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Discounts or promotional rates may be offered at our discretion and may be subject to additional conditions communicated at the time.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Weekly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation stops future charges. For standard weekly subscriptions, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain access until then. For packages with a minimum prepaid term, you keep access through the prepaid period even if you cancel before recurring weekly billing begins.
One-off packages come with a money-back guarantee. If you wish to discontinue for any reason, contact us at alex.rippon@ironfocus.co.nz and we will issue a refund to your original payment method.
Membership pausing is not currently available. We may introduce this feature in future and will update these Terms accordingly if we do.
5. Health and medical disclosure
Your safety is our priority. Before commencing any training with Iron Focus, you must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, physical limitations, or other health factors that may be relevant to your participation in exercise.
By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are medically fit to participate in a resistance training programme, or that you have obtained appropriate medical advice where necessary.
If your health circumstances change during your membership, you must inform us promptly. Iron Focus is not liable for injury or adverse outcomes arising from undisclosed medical conditions or injuries.
Iron Focus holds public liability insurance in respect of its training services.
6. Liability and risk
Physical exercise involves an inherent risk of injury. By joining Iron Focus, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
To the extent permitted by law, Iron Focus is not liable for:
- Injury or adverse outcomes arising from medical conditions or injuries you did not disclose
- Fitness outcomes, including but not limited to weight loss, strength gains, or body composition changes — results depend on individual effort, lifestyle, and adherence
- Injury sustained during self-directed training conducted outside of supervised Iron Focus sessions
- Injury resulting from failure to follow instructions, use of incorrect form despite guidance, or reckless behaviour
- Temporary unavailability of the Iron Focus App or website due to technical issues or maintenance
- Failures or interruptions caused by third-party services, including Stripe or SendGrid
- Loss or damage to personal property during in-person sessions
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control, including illness, natural events, or other force majeure events
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be excluded by contract.
7. Intellectual property
All training programs, workout content, and materials delivered through the Iron Focus App and services are the intellectual property of Iron Focus. Your membership grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use this content for your own training purposes only.
You may not reproduce, distribute, share, or commercially exploit any Iron Focus content without our prior written consent.
8. Account terms
Your Iron Focus account is personal to you and may not be shared with or transferred to any other person. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately at alex.rippon@ironfocus.co.nz.
9. Termination by Iron Focus
Iron Focus reserves the right to terminate your membership at any time and for any reason. In the event of termination:
- For subscription memberships: no further charges will be made and any unused days in the current billing period will be refunded pro-rata to your original payment method.
- For one-off packages: the unused portion of your package will be refunded pro-rata to your original payment method.
We will notify you of any termination by email.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Iron Focus services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
