How Iron Focus collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

1. Introduction
Iron Focus is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
This policy covers all Iron Focus services, including the Iron Focus member website and the Iron Focus personal training application.
2. What information we collect
Account and contact information
- First and last name
- Email address
- Password (stored in encrypted form — we never store your password in plain text)
Health and fitness information (personal training app)
- Body measurements and composition data
- Workout logs and training history
- In-app messages between you and your trainer
Payment and billing information
- Billing history and subscription status
- Your Stripe customer identifier (card details are handled directly by Stripe and never stored by us)
Enquiry information
- Name, email, and optional phone number
- The content of your enquiry
- If you are not yet a member, we may store these details in our website database as a lead record so we can follow up, in addition to any email copy sent to our team.
3. Why we collect it
We collect your personal information to:
- Create and manage your Iron Focus account
- Deliver personal training services and track your progress
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
- Send you service-related communications (e.g. account confirmations, password resets)
- Send you marketing communications about Iron Focus services, where you have given consent to receive them
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third parties we share data with
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate our business. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties unless required to do so by law.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion.
If you request deletion of your account:
- All personal information, health and fitness data, and messages will be permanently deleted.
- Transaction records (billing history) may be retained where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
Note that Stripe retains payment transaction records independently in accordance with their own privacy policy and legal obligations.
6. Security
Your information is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, which uses industry-standard security controls. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit and store passwords in hashed form. Access to your personal information is restricted to authorised Iron Focus personnel only.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
7. Marketing communications
We send two types of emails:
Transactional emails — these are necessary to provide our services and include account confirmations, password resets, and enquiry responses.
Marketing emails — from time to time we may send you emails about Iron Focus services, offers, and updates. We will only send these where you have given explicit consent. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email, or by contacting us directly at alex.rippon@ironfocus.co.nz.
8. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to the retention exceptions noted above)
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we have breached the Privacy Act

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
